Pacquiao - Mosley Fight set in October

World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley said Wednesday that only a few details stand between him and an October 17 fight with Philippines superstar Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao flattened England's Ricky Hatton in the second round last month while Mosley stopped Mexico's Antonio Margarito in the ninth round back in January.

US veteran Mosley anticipates squaring off with the Asian powerhouse seen as the world's top pound-for-pound fighter at a catch-weight once negotiations are complete based upon comments Pacquiao made in his homeland.

Mosley, 46-5 with 39 knockouts, challenged Pacquiao, 49-3 with two drawn and 37 knockouts, and the Filipino star told GMA News on Wednesday that, "No problem. We can fight. As long as we negotiate."

Mosley took that as a challenge answered and said he will give Pacquiao the larger share of a 60-40 purse split and meet him at a catch weight lower than the welterweight limit in order to make the fight happen.

Pacquiao Sticks to Solar Sports

The broadcasting of the upcoming May 2 bout between Filipino ring superstar Manny Pacquiao and Briton Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas, Nevada will still be undertaken by Solar Sports Entertainment Corp.

Jude Turcuato, Solar Sports’ vice-president for sales and marketing, said Saturday that Pacquiao decided to remain under contract with Solar Sports for good.

“Yes, after five days of confusion, Solar and Pacquiao have already settled the problem,” Turcuato told The Manila Times in a phone interview. “As of now, everything would remain ‘status quo’.”

Turcuato said that he was informed by his bosses—Solar President Wilson Tieng and Chief Officer-in-Charge Peter Chan Liong— that the problem had already been resolved for the benefit of both parties and “public interest.”

Tieng and Liong flew to the United States to dialogue with Pacquiao over the contract dispute and avoid a possible battle in court.

“It was only a little misunderstanding between us and the Pacquiao camp,” said Turcuato, who noted that television network GMA 7 would stay as Solar’s broadcast partner as stipulated in their block time agreement.

“Yes they [GMA 7] will remain as our partner,” he said.

Go Manny!

This is to inform everyone that the game between Pacquiao and Hatton is now final. I have watched the news that both fighters were very happy that their team have agreed to the percentage of the winning price. Although Manny Pacman Pacquiao didn’t uttered a word about the agreed percentage. He wants to emphasize that he is not afraid to any fight or match. He will do all his best to still win this one. Both parties are now arranging the schedule for the press conference of this two great fighters.

Erik Morales go in favor of Hatton. Morales said that he knew Pacquiao’s styles in fighting and would go for Hatton for this match. I guess this was his statement last time before the Pacman vs Dela Hoya match. We can blame Morales no more because Pacquiao defeated this Mexican fighter with no glory. For what Pacman has been shown in the world of boxing, the pro Hatton now will come to think of supporting Pacman in this fight. This is for the glory of their boxing career history. Who ever wins will be the greatest but the loser has the chance still to have a rematch. But if Pacman could do it once again just like what he did to Dela Hoya, there is no sense of having the rematch. So guys, let’s hope for the best that this could be a reality. I will update you with this one. Watch out!
